The National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS) has announced the 2013 inductees into its Hall of Fame. The staffing industry educator since 1961, NAPS annually recognizes individuals who are making a significant, positive and lasting impact on the staffing industry. In 1994, NAPS created the Hall of Fame award in memory of William A. Murphy Sr., CPC, to recognize and honor those who display leadership, innovation and risk taking while creating a better industry for all.
Each year, NAPS members nominate fellow members for Hall of Fame recognition. All nominations are then presented to the awards committee, which is comprised of NAPS board members and staff. This committee votes and decides the winners of the Hall of Fame awards.
This year, at the NAPS annual conference in Las Vegas, those in attendance took part in recognizing our two most recent inductees into the NAPS Hall of Fame, Dr. Frank Burtnett and Carol Wenom.
Frank Burtnett, EdD, is the NAPS Certification and Education Consultant. He serves as a consultant in matters of career and college readiness to institutions, organizations, agencies and the private sector. Burtnett also is the author of a series of books on career and educational transitions, and his books have been used by people across the lifespan. In addition, he has designed and delivered training sessions and public presentations on educational and career development issues.
Carol Wenom, CPC, CTS, Vice President of Whitaker Technical Services, has previously served as chairman of the board for NAPS. Consistently a top producer in the technical job placement industry, Ms. Wenom has been recognized with numerous production awards at local, state and national levels. In 1996, she was inducted into the Pinnacle Society, which is the nation’s premier consortium of top recruiters within the permanent placement and search industry. She has also achieved “preferred provider” or “exclusive provider” status with many of her clients.
“We are honored to welcome Carol Wenom and Dr. Frank Burtnett into the NAPS Hall of Fame,” said NAPS President John Sacerdote, CPC/CTS. “Their combined portfolio of accomplishments adds considerable value to our organization, and enables NAPS to remain the leader in the staffing industry.”
Burtnett and Wenom join past recipients such as Ann Bohl Deacon, CPC; Conrad Taylor, CPC/CTS/CERS; Dan Robitaille, CPC; Robert (Bob) Larson, CPC; John Sacerdote, CPC, CTS; Tony Bruno, CPC, CTS; Barbara Bruno, CPC, CTS; Larry Nobles, CPC; Danny Cahill, CPC; in addition to a lengthy list of others who have made our industry a profession we are all proud to be a part of today.
