Some years ago Bruce Whitaker experienced the generosity and pro bono work of his dear friend, Dr. Scott Yarish. Scott founded and developed The Crystal Foundation through which he leads a volunteer medical team that does life-altering plastic surgery for young children in rural Mexico. The foundation exists through the generosity of a few donors, most notably Dr. Yarish and his wife Marsha Murray. With an assist from Royal Oaks Country Club the foundation’s first golf tournament fundraiser is being planned for October 1, 2018.

About The Crystal Foundation
The Crystal Foundation is a 501C(3) organization founded by Dr. Scott Yarish in 1990. This completely volunteer group provides reconstructive surgery to children with disabling deformities and no means for medical care. A large part of the Crystal Foundation’s efforts is focused on the clinic started in Guerrero, Mexico in 1989. The clinic performs state of the art reconstruction for children suffering from congenital deformities such as cleft lips, cleft palates, congenital hand anomalies, as well as burn injuries. With modern surgical techniques, Dr. Yarish and team has restored the lives of thousands of children — the miracle their parents seek and could never find, let alone afford.
