Taylor Archer joined Whitaker Technical in the summer of 2022, initially focusing on recruiting mid-to-senior-level engineering professionals in the refining and chemical industries. However, in mid-2024, Taylor made a strategic transition into IT recruitment—a move that has been both rewarding and enlightening. Leveraging her strong foundation in engineering recruitment, she seamlessly applied her expertise in understanding technical talent, relationship-building, and candidate matching to the IT sector.
Taylor started her recruiting career in the hospitality industry, where she developed a passion for guiding people to their dream jobs and advocating for their careers throughout the journey. She successfully built a staff from 6 to 112 and was recognized as Most Improved with iPic in 2016 and Recruiter of the Year in the same year.
Though restaurants were her bread and butter (no pun intended), she continually seeks to push the boundaries of her comfort zone. Her drive led her to Whitaker Technical, where her talents were quickly recognized—earning her Rookie of the Year in 2022 and the prestigious Whitaker Way award in 2023.
Taylor’s transition into IT recruitment has reinforced the power of transferable skills. By leveraging her deep understanding of technical roles and the hiring landscape, she has confidently stepped into the IT space, helping top-tier professionals connect with the right opportunities.
Taylor earned a Bachelor of Science in Health with a concentration in Sociology and Chemistry from the University of Houston. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and eating her way through new cultures.
